Students will take a bus to the Bronx River Path entrance in Scarsdale Village in order to spend time outside, picking up trash that has accumulated near/in the brook. This is important for the health of the Bronx River brook, and can be a fun (and sometimes competitive) way to take care of the environment in our town. Participants will be provided with trash pickup tools, gloves, and bags.

The sessions on Non Sibi Day focus on what we can do for others–in order to implement this effectively, it is important to spend time with and strengthen the bonds in our own high school community. During this time, there will be activities and games set up in several locations around the school as well as an opportunity to purchase food and other goods from various clubs – all proceeds will go to a charity of the club’s choosing. Specifics will be sent out closer to Non Sibi Day. Please use this period to spend time with your community—join in the games and activities, relax, browse the club fundraiser fair, and chat with your classmates and teachers.
The SHS Choir will travel down to Fox Meadow Elementary School to engage the 3rd grade students in game songs and ice breakers. The Choir will also perform for the 3rd graders from their Spring Concert. [ONLY CHOIR]
High school students team up with fourth graders from Ms. Lipez’s class at Fox Meadow for a powerful Narrative 4 Story Exchange on kindness and Non Sibi (not for oneself). Through sharing real stories and listening with heart, students will discover how empathy and small acts of service can make a meaningful impact.
