Experience history firsthand from a Scarsdale Firefighter who served on 9/11 and the days that followed as they recount their story of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience on the day that changed everything. Following an open Q&A, students will have the opportunity to write letters to local first responders to show our appreciation for all they do for the community.

Imagine a table set for Shabbat—but with empty seats, symbolizing the American hostages still held captive since October 7, 2023. In this powerful session and art installation, you’ll learn about their stories, reflect on the impact of their absence, and take action by writing letters of support to their families. This is more than just a discussion—it’s a chance to stand in solidarity, raise awareness, and make a difference.
Note: We are hopeful that we will also be able to hear from a member of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum. Depending on their availability, the session will run either with this speaker or without.
